MSABC Congratulates Jim O’Rourke on Receiving Order of BC

Vancouver – The Mining Suppliers Association of British Columbia (MSABC) congratulates Jim O’Rourke, President and CEO of Copper Mountain Mining Corporation, for his selection as a 2011 recipient of the Order of British Columbia. “Jim O’Rourke was instrumental in bringing several BC mines into operation, including the recently opened Copper Mountain Mine near Princeton and the Huckleberry Mine Project near Houston,” said Patty Moore, Chair of MSABC. “As a result, he has been responsible not only for the creation of thousands of direct jobs but also countless indirect jobs for British Columbians who work for companies that supply mining operations and the communities near them” added Moore.
The Order of British Columbia recognizes persons who have served with the greatest distinction and excelled in a field of endeavour benefiting the people of British Columbia or elsewhere. “The people of British Columbia have benefited greatly from Mr. O’Rourke’s extraordinary achievements as a builder of the mining industry in B.C.,” said Moore. “This award recognizes his demonstrated excellence in our industry as an innovative developer, active member of the business community and philanthropist.”
